TIMELINES AND PREFERRED GRANT TYPES
We offer two main opportunities for organizations wishing to apply for grants from the Zeppa Foundation. Each cycle is a bit different in the types of grants we prefer to award.
The A.H. Zeppa Family Foundation will consider grants of all types, but is often less inclined to make multi-year grants or make grants to the same organization two years in a row, particularly in the Spring Cycle.
Potential grant applicants are encouraged to call or email the Foundation regarding any questions or to discuss grant ideas. Please email grants@zeppa.org or call 218-726-5430 with questions.
SPRING DECISION CYCLE - Project Oriented
March 9th - Pre-Proposal Due
May 5th - Full Proposal Due
Pre-proposals are due March 9th. Pre-proposals help determine if a program or project fits within the Foundation’s current grant making areas of interest. Following our pre-proposal review, applicants will be notified by April 8th whether or not a full proposal is invited.
If invited, full proposals are due May 5th. Final granting decisions will be made by the foundation by May 31st (or as near to that date as possible).
This Spring’s granting cycle is aimed at funding program or project specific requests, and less inclined to support general operating grants. We are open to all ideas from eligible organizations that align with our Foundation Mission Statements, but during our spring cycle we particularly encourage project ideas that accomplish some or all of the following:
FALL DECISION CYCLE - General Operating Oriented
September 7th - Pre-Proposal Due
November 3rd - Full Proposal Due
Pre-proposals are due September 7th. Pre-proposals help determine if an organization and its work fit within the Foundation’s current grant making areas of interest. Following our pre-proposal review, applicants will be notified by October 7th whether or not a full proposal is invited.
If invited, full proposals are due November 3rd. Final granting decisions will be made by the foundation by November 30th (or as near to that date as possible).
Our preference for this Fall’s granting cycle is aimed at funding general operating support for those organizations doing exemplary work fulfilling the Foundation Mission Statements of the A.H. Zeppa Family Foundation.
SMALL GRANT PROGRAM
Grant requests for a $1,000 or less are considered Small Grants. These can be accepted at any time and will be less affected by the particular granting cycle orientation. Small Grants need only to fulfill the requirements of the Pre-Application and can sometimes be considered ahead of the next scheduled granting timeline. If you are interested in a Small Grant request on a quick timeline, please take special notice to contact the Foundation after grant submission and discuss the likelihood of an expedited processing of your grant. We are sometimes able to process those requests, but can make no guarantees. Questions can be directed to grants@zeppa.org or to 218-726-5430.
